Hyderabad: Jet Airways had been going through tumultuous phase with dip in domestic travel but there has been improvement, more so in July, said its Chief Commercial Officer Sudheer Raghavan here on Thursday.
Addressing media persons after announcing the launch of Hyderabad-Dubai international flight, Mr. Sudheer said last year, the airline was in the negative zone. “But thanks to some strategic and painful decisions to buck the trend, we are now in the strong positive zone”. He, however, predicted that 2010 figures would be worse than that of 2009 for the aviation sector.
Jet Airways’ market share fell to 20 per cent from 30 per cent but at present it again climbed back to 26.3 per cent as declared by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), though its revenue share remained intact. “We retained our position now as leader both in market and revenue share,” Mr. Raghavan said.
On Jet Airways Konnect, low-fare airline, he said it saw improvement in passengers but yield had come down.
