Mumbai call centre gets bomb threat call for Singapore flight

Melbourne: A bomb threat was reportedly received in a Mumbai call centre for a Melbourne-bound Singapore Airlines flight that was preparing to land here today.
The flight SQ227 with 198 passengers and 20 crew, was alerted to a bomb threat after a call was received in a call centre at Mumbai, an airlines spokeswoman was quoted by the 'The Age'.
The crew alerted passengers to the potential threat. "Once we were sure the bomb did not exist, we told passengers the flight was under threat, but by that stage we were quite sure it was a hoax," the Singapore Airlines spokeswoman said, adding "With passengers and crew all safely in Melbourne, we checked the plane thoroughly and haven't found anything."
