Shillong flight on AI radar

Shillong: Air India is planning to introduce regular flights from Calcutta to here and Tura and back.
The chairman-cum-managing director of the national carrier, Arvind Jadhav, along with senior officials, called on Meghalaya chief minister D.D. Lapang at Meghalaya House in New Delhi last night.
Jadhav said he, along with senior officials, would come here on September 15 for a three-day visit to discuss the introduction of regular flights to Shillong and Tura.
It was agreed that the state government would provide 12 acres of land to Air India to establish a state-of-the-art aviation training academy here that will create jobs for 600 people.
