Mumbai: Fliers booked on Air India flights for the coming few days pressed the panic button even before the final announcement was made on the suspension of the airline's flights.
As the buzz about the cancellation of flights spread, many travel agents were flooded with calls from anxious fliers late on Monday.
Travel experts said that the impact of the AI flight disruption could be much more since lots of people have made prior booking for the festive season. For international fliers, who were wooed by attractive fair advertised by the airline, finding another booking at the 11th hour would be very expensive.
Ajay Prakash, national general secretary of the Travel Agent Federation of India (TAFI) said the situation would be worse when more fliers wake up to the news on Monday.
