AI staff blame management, Govt for loss

Mumbai: A day before the Air India management meets to decide the Maharaja’s fate, its 23,000 employees have written a letter to the company, the civil aviation minister and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The letter alleges how mismanagement at the top level and government led to airlines downfall. The management is eyeing to slash employee salaries to recover.
The airline board would be meeting on Tuesday to decide on wage cuts.
Three months ago civil aviation minister Praful Patel said that those responsible for the downfall would be held responsible but none of that has happened, said the spokesperson of the Indian Pilot Guild.
“Now the entire revival strategy is focused on 50 per cent salary cuts and deferred payments,” the spokesperson added.
