AIEG supports Jet Airways union on reinstatement of two pilots

Mumbai: Aviation Industry Employees' Guild, the largest empolyees union in Air India, today came out in support of the Jet Airways' pilots union on the reinstatement of two pilots sacked by the Jet management last month.
"We extend our whole-hearted support to Jet Airways' pilots union which is seeking the reinstatement of two sacked pilots," AIEG General Secretary, George Abraham, told PTI here.
"It is shocking that in a democratic country like ours, a permanent employee can be sacked without assigning any reason and without following the principles of natural justice," Abraham said.
The Naresh Goyal-promoted private air-carrier had last month given marching orders to two of its senior-most pilots, Capt Sam Thomas and Capt Balaraman, through an e-mail saying their services were not required.
