Airline told to pay Rs 5,000

Chandigarh: UT consumer court on Tuesday directed MDLR Airlines and its officials to pay Rs 4,500 along with litigation cost of Rs 500 within 30 days To Pankaj Mahajan, a Panchkula resident.
According to the complaint, Mahajan had booked four tickets from MDLR Airlines for his to-and-fro journey from Chandigarh to Kolkata in December 2008 and paid a total amount of Rs 47,000. During return flight, they were issued boarding passes from Kolkata to New Delhi instead of Kolkata to Chandigarh. Later, instead of landing at Delhi, the flight landed at Jaipur and this caused a lot of inconvenience to him and his family members. He requested the airlines officials to arrange for their journey from Jaipur to Chandigarh by air or by an AC bus.
Allegedly, they were forced to travel in an ordinary bus from Jaipur to Delhi and the airlines failed to make any arrangement from their Delhi to Chandigarh journey.
