Airlines flash up to 50% discount

New Delhi: Booking domestic airline tickets now for travel till Friday can lead to big savings for passengers. While Jet started the scheme where people could book till Thursday for travel till Friday (September 18) at a whopping 50% discount to get back passengers after its pilot strike got over, other airlines have also started similar offers.
Now, Air India (domestic) has also offered reduced fares on select flights till Thursday and travel has to be completed by Friday. Discounted fares, cheaper by 20% to 46%, will be available on sectors like metro routes and some others. Air India will charge an all-inclusive fare of Rs 2,729 on eight flights from Mumbai to Delhi and seven flights from Delhi to Mumbai till September 17. Some low cost carriers and Kingfisher are also offering special fares on select routes. On Tuesday, airlines got some relief as oil companies ruduced base price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) by Rs 1200. "We will be able to save some operational cost," said one airline official.
