Jet-lagged at Bangalore airport

Bangalore: The strike called by Jet Airways’ pilots on Tuesday to protest the sacking of two pilots had its effect on the timings of flight departures and arrivals at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA).
Of the 20-odd flights that had to depart from Bangalore to other domestic destinations, 13 were cancelled due to the strike. One flight on the Bangalore-Mangalore route was delayed for several hours. The most affected routes were Bangalore- Mumbai and Bangalore-Chennai, with nine flights each cancelled on both the routes.
Jet Airways flights from Bangalore were not affected on a large scale until noon on Tuesday. However, most flights that had post noon departure were hit badly. Scenes of heated exchanges between passengers whose flights were cancelled and the airline staff were common. Their grouse with the management was: Why were the tickets issued when they were aware of the strike?
