Bangalore: Finding itself on weaker ground, the newly formed pilots' union of Jet Airways -- National Aviation Guild (NAG) -- is in the process of affiliating itself to an international trade association. If push came to shove, it would even consider aligning with a political party.
"We have been approached by many international and domestic unions and we may look at associating with one of them soon. If we are pushed to corner, we will also look getting support from some political party," a source said.
NAG, which was formed on July 24, has been negotiating with Jet for the reinstatement of two pilots -- Sam Thomas and D Balaraman -- who were fired on July 31 for their role in the pilot body. However, it has not been able to make much headway because of the full service airline's clout in political circles.
