New Delhi: The standoff between agitating pilots and the Air India management continued for the fourth consecutive day as the airline stopped booking tickets for the next 15 days and closed its counters at the airports on Tuesday.
The national carrier flies about 30,000 people daily and with bookings halted for 15 days, lakhs of passengers were likely to be affected.
Earlier, Monday night's negotiations between the pilots and the management ended in a deadlock.
Civil Aviation Secretary M.M. Nambiar ruled out a lockout and asked the management to hold talks immediately with the striking employees.
