2nd AI flight stranded in Vizag

In what comes as a huge embarrassment for Air India, a second incident of passengers being stranded at the Vizag airport was reported on Friday (October 16). IC 7601 reportedly developed a technical snag enroute to Chennai. At 1145 hours, the flight reportedly took off from Vizag and halfway to Chennai, the flight was forced to return to the Vizag airport due to a reported engine failure.
This incident left over 50 passengers stranded at the airport. Earlier, 40 passengers were left stranded for over 24 hours at the same airport after their flight developed a technical snag on Wednesday (October 14). The flight, which heads to New Delhi, developed a technical snag twice. Following which, Air India could not even provide a replacement aircraft. The passengers were offloaded twice and finally in the evening told to return at noon the next day.
