New Delhi: Air India on Friday rubbished an air hostess's allegations against captain Devi Sharan, who flew the hijacked IC-814 to Kandahar in 1999.
Airhostess Simrath Chopra alleged that Sharan had been harassing her after he took over as Alliance Air executive director (operations) in March and approached the National Commission for Women (NCW), seeking an independent probe.
"In her letter dated July 17 this year, she levelled charges of sexual harassment against Sharan, which allegedly occurred 13 years ago. In fact, there is a vigilance probe pending against her since 2008," a senior airline official said. The airhostess alleged that the captain had made indecent overtures while on a domestic flight in 1997. At that time, she rebuffed the captain for his behaviour.
