Emirates to Add More Flights from Trivandrum, Calicut

Trivandrum: Emirates Airline is set to increase its capacity from the South Indian state of Kerala by over 2000 seats a week, within the next two months.
The airline would add another eight flights from Trivandrum and Calicut by December, Asha Subramanian, Emirates sales manager for South Kerala, told reporters here on Thursday.
With this, the number of flights from Trivandrum to Dubai will go up from eight to 12 a week, and 7 to 11 from Calicut. Six of these flights, three each from Trivandrum and Calicut, would start operations from October 26 and the rest from December 1. After the addition of new flights, passenger seat capacity per week from Trivandrum will go up from the present 2,200 to 3,300.
The airline already operates 14 flights from Cochin — the third international airport in the state.
She said the timings of the flights have been fixed in such a way that those travelling to onward destinations need not wait at Dubai for more than ?two hours.
The official said that the recession had not hit the airline’s operations from India much. Our load factor in the region has remained around 75 per cent.
