IA pilots to meet on Nov 5 to discuss future plans

New Delhi: The apex body of pilots of erstwhile Indian Airlines will meet on November 5 to decide their future course of action to be taken if their dues are not cleared. The central executive committee of the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) will take a final call on the issue, said ICPA head Shailendra Singh.
IA pilots have not been paid their flying allowances, that account for 70-80% of their total wages, for past two months. What’s irking them most is that the airline has been paying its close to 200 expat pilots on time despite the fact that each of the foreigner gets a whopping Rs 6.5-7 lakh a month.
AI on Thursday said it is seeking loans from banks to pay pilots. It expects to be able to pay at least a part of flying allowance dues by November 10.
