Dubai: Seven Indians who were detained at Bahrain International Airport for possessing fake visas have been sent home, India's ambassador to Bahrain has said. The seven men from Kerala, aged between 21 and 23, had arrived here on Saturday seeking jobs, but found out that the company, Hala International, which had hired them did not exist.
"They were put on a Gulf Air flight and the airline has confirmed to us that they have been sent home," Ambassador Joseph George said. The Indian diplomat admitted that cases of fake visa dealers have gone up in recent times and said the Embassy is doing whatever it can to prevent them.
"We take up the matter with the authorities whenever such cases are reported but there is no dearth of people trying to dupe others. Information is the key to preventing such incidents from happening in the future," he said.
The seven have been identified as Mohammed Jamsheer, Richi Jose, Prashop Alathure, Raghu Alathure, Arun Kumar, Ranjan T. Varghese and Tony Mon.
