Qatar Airways begins flights to Amritsar

Qatar Airways has launched flights to Amritsar in India from Doha, meaning there is now an extra travel option for people planning to visit the northern state of Punjab.
The airline will operate four non-stop services from its hub in Qatar every week.
A troupe of Punjabi bhangra dancers gave a performance at Doha airport on 12 October to celebrate the inaugural flight, which landed in India as the country prepares to begin its celebrations of the Diwali festival.
Akbar Al Baker, the carrier's chief executive, said: 'These are exciting times for Qatar Airways with three route launches in less than two months, which demonstrates the robust growth we are still experiencing.
The carrier also announced this month that it had won its fourth successive TTG Asia award, picking up the accolade for the best Middle Eastern airline at an event in Bangkok.
