New Delhi: Holding Air India Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Jadhav responsible for the present situation of the national carrier, members pilots' body on Wednesday asked for his immediate removal to save the airline.
The executive committee members of Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA), pilots' body of erstwhile Indian Airlines which has over 600 members, demanded the CMD's removal and a probe into the steps taken by him to resolve the strike by airlines' senior pilots."We have also demanded that the government should form an independent body to monitor the developments taking place for the revival of the national carrier," said an ICPA executive committee member, who was present during a two-hour long emergency meeting held at the ICPA office here.
Saying that merger of Air India and Indian Airlines has failed to yield the required results, the pilots have asked the government to demerge the company.
