New Delhi: Reacting to a TOI report, Air India has clarified that while a proposal to cut salaries of top management was discussed at its board meeting in Chennai on Wednesday, no decision has been taken so far.
In a letter, AI ED (corporate communications) J Bhargava said: "The matter regarding regulating the PLI (performance-linked incentive) of top executives had come up for discussions as the ministry of civil aviation had issued a directive that ‘any further payment of PLI to the level of functional directors/executive directors would occur only after prior clearance of the board of directors'."
"The board, therefore, deliberated this issue and decided to make a reference to the ministry in respect of payment of PLI to these categories," he said.
