Airport drug bust nets Surrey man

The single brown package from India arrived at Vancouver International Airport on Nov. 17 labelled as “Sol-Starch Lignite.”
An inspector with the Canada Border Services Agency discovered the package contained more than seven kilograms of ephedrine, a substance used to produce methamphetamine.
A 45-year-old Surrey man has been arrested and charged with importing a controlled substance. Gordon Kits is currently in jail. He is scheduled to appear in Richmond Provincial Court on Thursday (Dec. 3).
