Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the sabotage angle in the Bell-430 chopper crash, which killed late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and others, has written to National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) seeking expert opinion on the crash.
Once the CBI hears from NAL and receives the much awaited transcripts of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the premier investigating agency is expected to wind up its probe by the end of December.
Sources associated with the investigation disclosed to Express that CBI, which is likely to get the CVR transcripts anytime now, wrote to NAL for their opinion a few days back.
NAL, which is India’s second largest aerospace firm after Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities and expertise to investigate accidents in aerospace and their conclusion about how the Bell-430 chopper crashed, holds the key.
Sources said that various reports including that of the wreckage, post-moterm reports and copies of available material were sent to NAL.
