Lower parking charge at Nagpur airport soon

Nagpur: Good news for people going to airport for receiving or dropping off friends and relatives. They no longer will have to wait in their cars on Wardha Road or just drop a dear one off in a hurry to avoid exorbitant parking charges. Mihan India Pvt Ltd., the new owner of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, is proposing to reduce the parking charges so more users make use of parking facilities.
Four wheelers parked on Wardha road or on approach road of the airport are a common sight, especially in morning and evening hours when flights from Mumbai and Delhi arrive. They are parked here just to avoid paying the high parking rates. These not only cause traffic problems on Wardha Road but a loss of revenue to Nagpur airport, sources at airport informed.
Parking charge for twowheelers at the airport is Rs 15, for cars and vans Rs 60, mini bus and tempo Rs 70
while for tourist’s buses it is Rs 225. The rate for parking a car at VIP lounge is Rs 120. The charge for entering the terminal building to see-off and receive passengers is Rs 30. TOI has several times highlighted the issue of exorbitant parking rates and lack of passenger amenities at Nagpur airport.
