SC reserves verdict on sacked overweight airhostess of AI

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today reserved its judgement on the constitutional valditiy of Air India's decision to sack overweight airhostess.
A bench of Justices Tarun Chatterjee and S S Nijjar, which heard counsel for the sacked airhostess, said it would pronounce its verdict on Monday.
The apex court had earlier refused to temporarily restore the services of nine air hostesses dismissed by Indian Airlines (IA), now merged with Air India, for being overweight.
The sacked airhostess had moved the apex court after the Delhi High Court upheld the management's decision to provide them ground duties instead of air as they were found to be overweight.
