Trial run at Bajpe Airport successful

Mangalore: The new Integrated Terminal Building at Bajpe Airport in Kenjar, which was waiting for the nod of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for inauguration, yesterday received the first full testing non-scheduled aircraft carrying specially invited passengers from Goa.
The public trial was a critical step towards making the new terminal operational.
Ministry of Civil Aviation and Director General of Civil Aviation guided the test which was termed as success.
The aviation safety audit of the terminal, which was conducted recently, already found the terminal met overall safety requirements.
According to top officials from Airport Authority of India (AAI) at the Bajpe Airport, a report on the success of the trail run would be submitted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. After the trial run for domestic flight, a similar exercise will be carried out for an international flight when immigration facilities are put in place.
