Unapologetic AI blames passengers for ordeal

A day after over 170 passengers onboard a Mumbai-Chennai Air India flight were made to wait inside the plan without any air-conditioning for over two hours, the airline on Tuesday (December 22) remained unapologetic and instead passed the buck onto the passengers.
Air India issued a statement attempting to clarify the ordeal of passengers traveling on IX 206. Air India Spokesperson Jitendra Bhargava said that it was some passengers who refused to take the flight, despite assurances that the air condition would work after the flight took off.
The statement read, "Passengers were assured that the air conditioner would be functioning after the flight is airborne. But as some passengers refused to take the flight, it was brought back. Since it's peak season with load factors upto 90 percent, it was difficult to procure a standby aircraft."
At 5:45pm on Monday, the passengers boarded the Air India flight. Once inside, they realised there was no air-conditioning.
