CIAL issues speciality store tenders

Cochin International airport (CIAL) has issued requests for proposals (RFPs) for three speciality concessions in international departures.
The stores include a 70sq m (753sq ft) outlet selling toys, eye-wear, luxury pens, convenience items, music, CDs and DVDs; a 35sq m (376sq ft) store offering fashion, jewellery, pearls, crystals and gifts; and a 35sq m (376sq ft) shop selling Indian confectionery (packed foods).
Chosen concessionaires will share a percentage of the total monthly gross with CIAL. In the first year there will be no minimum performance guarantee and retailers will only share the revenue they generate. CIAL has also set monthly sales targets for each concession—Lakhs10 ($21,600) for the toys concession and Lakhs4 ($8,640) for the other two concessions. Each contract is for five years with the option to extend for a further two years. Interested parties have until January 28 to submit their applications to the airport’s commercial department.
CIAL has also issued RFPs for two 9sq m (97sq ft) retail concessions in the domestic departure general concourse area and four 7sq m (75sq ft) retail concessions in the domestic departure security hold area.
