Ahmedabad: More than 70 passengers of Goa-bound domestic flight were stranded for over four hours at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport Ahmedabad on Friday.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 12.30 pm but it got delayed after bad weather conditions forced two other flights -- from Kolkata to Jaipur and from Mumbai to Delhi -- to be diverted to Ahmedabad.
Airport sources said the Spicejet Airline authorities delayed the Goa flight to accommodate the passengers of diverted flight from Kolkata to Jaipur. Also, the private airline authorities had reportedly sent some planes to Mumbai airport leaving passengers in Ahmedabad in lurch. It is only after heated exchange between the airline authorities and passengers, that the latter were accommodated in another flight to Hyderabad via Bangalore taking mid stoppage in Goa.
