Mumbai: The GMR Group is planning a warehousing facility near the Delhi international airport, sources close to development said.
The infrastructure company that runs the Delhi International Airport Ltd and GMR Hyderabad International Airport will start the process this year.
It already operates a warehousing facility near the Hyderabad international airport.
“GMR has drawn the blueprint and the work on this project will begin by the August end or early September,” said the source.
This warehousing hub will be built around the vicinity of the Delhi airport.
“This facility will be built over one lakh square metres and would be similar to the one near the Hyderabad airport,” said the source.
GMR’s air cargo complex in Hyderabad has a built-in area of 14,330 square metres. The complex is a modular building with a capacity to handle cargo throughput of 100,000 million tonnes annually. The complex has dedicated cargo apron facilities both for handling regular and freighter operations.
