At Kanpur airport, work begins to install ILS

Kanpur: To help aircrafts land in poor visibility conditions, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has started the process to install Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Chakeri Airport of Kanpur.
Following an inspection by a Radio Construction Development Unit (RCDU) team of AAI, the installation process of ILS at Chakeri Airport was started on Friday. The project worth Rs 2 crore is expected to be completed within a month.
Manager of Chakeri Airport B K Jha said the locations for the installation of 20 antennas have been identified. After these are installed, the main device will be set up at the airport.
Presently, only one Air India flight operates from Chakeri Airport.
