Ticket fraud: HC denies bail

Kolkata: Calcutta high court on Friday turned down the anticipatory bail prayer of Mukesh Kishanpuria, who has been accused of committing fraud of over Rs 2 crore through the cancellation of 163 tickets of a private airline.
Kishanpuria and his associates — Taramoni Kishanpuria and Nirmala Bajaj — allegedly succeeded in getting the air tickets cancelled twice, pocketing twice the sum they had originally paid to Jet Airways.
According to a police complaint, Kishanpuria and the others would book upper-class air tickets online using fictitious names, using 15 credit cards from different banks. Some time later, they would start cancelling the tickets. While one of them would cancel the tickets online, the others would turn up at the booking office for manual cancellation.
Both operations would be carried out within a span of one and seven minutes.
