Cops chase hijacker of English

Ahmedabad: Poor education landed a woman in trouble with the police in Ahmedabad. The Sardarnagar police summoned a woman who, out of ignorance, had used the word 'hijack' instead of 'land', while inquiring about an Ahmedabad-Kolkata flight at 10:30 pm on Thursday.
On learning that a woman had asked when the flight would 'hijack', the Sardarnagar police launched an investigation immediately. But at the end of the probe, they found that the woman had actually wanted to know when the Ahmedabad-Kolkata flight would 'land' and not 'hijack'. She had made the mistake because she is ill-educated.
The woman, Rinky Raghuvanshi, has studied only up to Std 5. She had phoned the Indigo Airlines call centre to know when the flight would 'land' and not 'hijack', the police said.
Goswami said that Raghuvanshi's husband had later called the Indigo airlines call centre to tell the airline officials that his wife was ill-educated and had got confused between the words 'land' and 'hijack'.
