Mumbai: Jet Airways India, India's top private carrier by sales, would add 3-4 ATR aircraft to its existing fleet in 6-9 months, a senior official said on Thursday. "We are looking at adding more ATRs to our fleet in the next 6-9 months," K G Vishwanath, vice president, commercial strategy and investor relations, told reporters. The airline operates a fleet of 112 aircraft including 14 ATR 72-500 models.
Vishwanath said the firm had not finalised whether it would be purchasing the aircraft or taking them on lease. "Currently all of the ATRs are operated on the Jet Konnect fleet. For the incremental ATRs we will look at which routes to put them on".
Jet Konnect, the economy service of the airline operating only on domestic routes, is expected to see load factors rise with the addition of a new premium service within the Konnect flights, Jet's Chief Commercial Officer Sudheer Raghavan said.
