New software mooted for better airport efficiency

Mumbai: The Air traffic Controllers (ATC) Guild has advocated a common software platform for sharing real-time information among airlines, airports and the air traffic management to improve efficiency in airports.
The platform, a social networking tool combined with business intelligence, would inform everyone including people who come to pick up relatives at the airport about the status of each flight, said A B Joshi, the Deputy General Manager (ATM), Airports Authority of India and representative of the ATC Guild.
Joshi said this platform had reduced flight delays and saved time and money for airlines abroad.
