AAI floats tender for ad rights outside Guwahati Airport

New Delhi: Airports Authority of India (AAI) has floated a tender for exclusive advertising rights outside the terminal building of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) in Guwahati for a period of five years. While the earnest money deposit (EMD) is Rs 6,26,800, the minimum reserved license fee has been fixed at Rs 5,97,500 per month, compoundable by 10 per cent per annum.
The total display area of more than 5000 sq. ft will be divided for putting up of glow signs and hoardings.
The companies bidding for the tender must have a minimum of three years' experience in the advertisement display business at transportation centres such as airports, seaports, railways, bus terminals and bus shelters, amongst other public places.
LGBI is one of the six busiest airports in the country in terms of passenger volume. The airport handles nearly 8,000 passengers daily and in the peak season, the figure goes up to more than 10,000. Also, it is the only other airport, after Kolkata Airport, catering to both domestic and international passenger traffic of north eastern region of India.
