Council set up for flight safety

Mumbai:: An advisory group, called the Civil Aviation Safety Advisory Council (CASAC), has been set up under the chairmanship of the director-general of civil aviation to strengthen aviation safety environment in the country.
The council formation follows the Air India Express Mangalore crash that was, in turn, followed by three air-safety incidents in quick succession in different airports in the country. The council, comprising 28 members drawn for a period of one-year from various aviation sub-sectors such as airlines (both public and private), flight operations, air wothiness and operations, will synergize the available technical expertise to enhance air safety.
