Mumbai: Having successfully exposed irregularities in the voluntary rejuvenation/rehabilitation scheme (VRRS) of Air India, a former employee of the government-led carrier is now on the warpath with former civil aviation minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy and is trying to find out if his wife was one of the illegitimate beneficiaries.
Pradeep Khanna (55), a former senior flight purser with Indian Airlines, has filed an RTI application (copy with MiD DAY) with Air India, seeking information on whether former airhostess Neelam Rudy, who retired in 2007, is the only employee from north India to get the benefits of the scheme, which was introduced in the same year.
When an airline spokesperson was contacted, he said, "I cannot comment on the matter at this point. After studying the application, I'll send it to higher officials who will reply to the same." Despite repeated calls and text messages, Rajiv Pratap Rudy was not available for comment.
