Jet Airways interested in operating Mysore flights

Bamgalore: Jet Airways is interested in operating flights to and from Mysore, where the renovated airport would be inaugurated tomorrow, officials said.
Chairman of CII Karnataka State Council Aroon Raman said Jet has allocated an ATR for operating the flights, expected to commence in one or two months.
Mysore is being positioned as "catchment area", and a CII study indicated that there would be 6,000 passengers per month from corporate sector in Mysore, excluding tourist traffic.
Minister for Infrastructure Development G Janardhana Reddy said acquisition of 900 acres for airport in the district headquarters town of Bellary would be completed in the next one week to ten days.
Farmers have given their land and compensation ranging from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh per acre is being given to them. He said the protest against the airport project in Bellary is being engineering by the Congress and JDS, adding none of the farmers who gave their land have participated in it.
