Hyderabad: The 74 passengers of a Bengaluru-bound aircraft of Indian Airlines had a moment of trepidation after they noticed emergency oxygen masks popping out before them minutes after takeoff.
The oxygen masks were deployed after the pilot noticed a snag in the pressurisation system in the flight. He then turned back the aircraft to make a normal landing at Hyderabad.
“There was no danger to the flight and the deploying of oxygen masks is a standard procedure in the checklist for such snags,” said a spokesperson of Air India. Flight IC915, which took off at 8.40 am from Shamshabad airport, returned within 15 minutes, thanks to the snag. The aircraft had operated three flights on the previous day without any problems. “ The passengers were later transferred to another aircraft, which took off for Bengaluru at 10.30 am.
