Mumbai: Air India's turnaround plan would be out within a month and the airline's independent directors would keep the unions involved in the process, said chairman and MD Arvind Jadhav on Tuesday.
It was the top management's first meeting with the airline's union representatives after AI derecognized two unions and dismissed 58 employees last week following a two-day strike. The derecognized unions were not called for the meeting.
"We urged the chairman to show the same magnanimity that they had shown the executive pilots when they went on strike last year. The sacked employees should be reinstated," said George Abraham, general secretary of Aviation Industry Employees' Union, adding that the chairman said he would hold further talks with unions.
