Mumbai: Plans for the expansion of Juhu airport moved a step closer a fortnight ago with the appointment of a consultancy firm.
Airports Authority of India appointed KPMG to develop expansion plans of the Juhu airport, according to a senior airport official.
The firm has three months to come out with the Juhu airport development plan. Based on this plan, the Airports Authoritity of India will come out with a short term plan, a medium term plan and a long term plan for the airport which would also have to secure environmental clearances.
Airport authorities are exploring the option of expanding Juhu runway to ease some pressure off the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA).
