AI bails out fliers on bandh

Kolkata: For a couple of years, Air India did not operate on strike days, citing passenger inconvenience. However, the real reason was to curb huge losses in operating empty flights on such days. The national carrier, however, returned to its socialistic stance with a bang on Monday.
Of the total number of 137 domestic flights scheduled to depart from the six metros till 6 pm on Monday, 136 were on schedule.
