Indigo too closes check-in 40 mins before take off

New Delhi: A day after Kingfisher Airlines announced that it will close its check-in counters 40 minutes before departure, IndiGo, too, have asked its passengers to reach the airport 45 minutes before take-off. The move comes after a circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation which is
responsible for restricting delays and congestions at major airports. At present, airlines close check-in counters 30 minutes before departure.
At Mumbai airport, the Air Traffic Control is pushing the flights to the end of the take-off queue if they miss their departure time. This is the reason why airlines have advanced their check-in time in Mumbai. Other airlines are also meeting airport operators to come to a decision soon.
