Jewellery worth Rs 3L stolen at IGI from techie

New Delhi: In another theft at IGI airport, gold jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh and a mobile phone was stolen from the luggage of a Mumbai-based systems engineer.
Thirty-year-old Syed Ahmad has been running from pillar to post ever since but the CISF or the police have been unable to catch the culprit. According to Ahmed, he took an Air India flight from Delhi to Mumbai on July 2. "When I reached Mumbai, I could not find my luggage. I lodged a complaint with Air India in Mumbai who told me my luggage had not arrived. I waited for a day and when there was no word from Air India, I booked a ticket back to Delhi," alleged Saeed."
"I came to Delhi and complained to Air India and CISF. Soon after the complaint, I was told by Air India staff that my bag had been found. They asked me to come to the airport. When I was given the bag, the airline tag had been broken and my belongings, including 1.65kg gold and a mobile phone, were missing. I asked airport authorities to investigate but they refused, after which I approached the police," said Saeed.
