Samajwadi Party MP takes airlines to task for delay

Lucknow: The presence of an MP on board a Delhi-bound aircraft went unnoticed till the flight was delayed by an hour. Then, the Samajwadi Party MP, Rashid Masood, called up civil aviation minister Praful Patel to lodge a complaint of the delay. He also alleged that the Air India staff had misbehaved with him.
It was around 7.00pm when the Air India flight IC-812 got delayed, reportedly after the airlines management tried to accommodate some passengers of a cancelled flight from Kanpur to New Delhi (IC-7801). Eyewitness said the MP sought an explanation from the airlines staff who, apparently, were not aware of the parliamentarian's identity. "He, then, demanded a complaint book, which was not handed over to him. This left the MP furious and he finally stood up and called up the civil aviation minister,'' said a fellow passenger.
