Air India to take steps to redress passengers grievances

Nedumbasssery: Kochi could be a hub for Air India in Kerala which will help avoid delay in resuming services, cancelled due to various reasons,a top official said today.
In case of cancellation of AI and IX flights in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode airports alternate aircraft could reach these airports from Kochi within a short span of time, Aravind Jadhav, Chairman and Managing Director, Air India, said Air India Express could become an anchor airline (Home Airline) of CIAL if additional facilities like separate terminal, reduced operation charges, parking and repairing its aircraft in the airport here along with the provision for keeping its cockpit and cabin crew are provided, Jadhav said.
"We are introducing a standard operating procedure to treat passengers in case of delays and cancellations and have decided to put this as a regular feature itself", he told reporters here after holding discussions with representatives of Kochi International Airport Limited (CIAL), Leading Hotels and Travel Agents' Association. Air India has decided to take steps to redress the grievances of its passengers, he said. Air India offered to cooperate with the CIAL Maintenance, Repairing Overhaul unit as a joint venture which will be mutually beneficial for CIAL and Air India.
The expertise and experience of Air India in the field of Repair and Maintenance of various types of Aircraft would be an added attraction.
