Mumbai: What conviction and determination can do has been proved by the director general of civil aviation’s (DGCA) recent move to make airlines fly on time on metro routes.
The airlines, which were cribbing on the first three days of the implementation of the new check-in and push-back rules, now want the regulator to implement the policy across India.
On Friday, the review meeting held at Mumbai airport between the DGCA, air traffic control (ATC), airlines and the airport operator turned out to be a pleasant one.
The meeting was held to examine the new air transport civil aviation requirement (CAR) circular which was stringently implemented at Mumbai and other metro airports on July 19.
“The airlines were pleased with the results and now want the regulator to implement it at all airports in the country,” said an airline official who did not want to be named discussing internal matters.
