Mumbai: Large consignments of fake Indian drugs manufactured in China are finding their way to Nigeria. The Nigerian authorities have woken up to the menace and warned airlines that they would be held responsible for spurious drugs carried by passengers flying into that country. The warning was issued by the NAFDAC following complaints from Indian pharmaceutical manufacturers that fake drugs made in China with labels of Indian companies are being dumped in the Nigerian market.
The development comes close on the heels of the TOI expose on how Nigerians residing in Mira Road on the outskirts of Mumbai were behind the con mails sent to people to fleece them of their hard-earned money.
