New Delhi: Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer EBA's wholly-owned subsidiary, ECC Leasing Co, on Tuesday moved the Supreme Court to repossess two planes it had leased to Coimbatore-based regional carrier Paramount Airways.
ECC Leasing, which had leased two Embraer E 170 planes to Paramount, alleged before the apex court that the carrier had not paid the requisite fees since September 2009, with the total dues amounting to around Rs 25 crore.
Senior advocate, Mr S. Ganesh, appearing for the aircraft leasing firm, submitted that of the two planes, one is still flying while the other has been grounded due to technical problems.
