Ahmedabad: Enthused by increase in air traffic in India, the central government has carried out a study for revival of the 32 airports that have been non-operational for a long while now. In Gujarat, Deesa is an airport that is not in use at present. Upgradation and development of airports was an ongoing process and depending upon demand and viability Airports Authority of India was taking up these projects either by itself of with state governments, said minister for civil aviation Praful Patel.
Replying to a question asked by Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani, the Union minister with an independent charge gave out figures related to air traffic in India.
