Two arrested for making hoax call to airline office

Kolkata: Two goldsmiths have been arrested from a village in Arambag for making a prank call to an airline call centre.
On August 19, executives at IndiGo Airlines call centre in Gurgaon received a call, warning them of a bomb on the Kolkata-Bangalore flight of August 27. The caller used a cellphone and spoke in broken Hindi.
IndiGo officials filed a complaint in Gurgaon police station and alerted Kolkata and Bangalore airport authorities. With the phone number being traced to Arambag, a team of officials arrested Srikanta Pramanik, 30, and brought him to Kolkata for interrogation. Police learned that the accused had given the phone to his cousin Shayamal. Another team was sent to Arambag and the 19-year-old was arrested and brought to city on Sunday. Both accused have worked at gold shops in Delhi and Bangalore.
